Maserati’s New Trim Levels

Maserati’s New Trim Levels

Each year, Maserati, as an Italian icon and unparalleled name in luxurious and powerful vehicles, goes above and beyond other automakers in changes designed to please and excite loyal and discerning drivers. Added features and options are meant to enhance the driving experience and pride of ownership. The new trim levels and options for 2016 continue this tradition and add value to their current model lineups.

Ghibli S

For some time, drivers have had two options in the Ghibli line—the base model or the Ghibli S Q4. The 2016 models now include a mid-range alternative in the form of the Ghibli S. Don’t worry that you’re downgrading by going with the Ghibli S instead of the S Q4. This year’s model has a little something extra.

Instead of the all-wheel drive of the Ghibli S Q4, the S trim is two-wheel drive. It forgoes the standard 345 horsepower of earlier models for a 404 horsepower 3.0L twin-turbocharged VC. You’ll be able to go from zero to 60 in 4.9 seconds and hit a top speed of nearly 178 miles per hour, slightly better than the S Q4, with its top speed of 177 mph.

Quattroporte S

No one with luxurious tastes and sensibilities and a need for speed and refinement should be forced to drive the typical four-door sedan. The Quattroporte model lineup removes that problem for Maserati lovers who need something a little roomier and only slightly less sporty than other models.

The new Quattroporte S trim for 2016 will become the new base model for the Quattroporte line. Like the Ghibli S, the Quattroporte sports 404 horsepower under the hood with a 3.0L turbo-six engine. Go from zero to 60 in 5.0 seconds and enjoy a top speed of 178 miles per hour, same as the Ghibli S, thanks to the added horsepower. Like all other trims in the Quattroporte line, it has a twin turbo and eight-speed automatic.

All 2016 Ghibli and Quattroporte models offer the option of an added luxury feature in the new and very exclusive Ermenegildo Zegna trim package. The Italian men’s fashion house is the largest menswear brand in the world and known for discerning taste, luxuriousness, and refined style.

The Zegna-designed interior includes much of what men’s fashion lovers have come to expect—pure anthracite silk fabric, luscious leather, and elegance. To celebrate the partnership between two Italian icons, Ermenegildo Zelda now offers a special capsule clothing collection, including outerwear in silk and leather, sneakers, scarves made of 100 percent anthracite silk, and sunglasses in locations around the world.

With new trim options and a luxurious interior package to consider, 2016 may be the year to contemplate a different Maserati model or to add a new one to your collection. While technology and design may advance, true refinement, luxury, and turbo-charged power never go out of style. No matter which model or trim you choose, you’ll always have the raw power and elegance Maserati is known for.
