Exterior

The Alfa Romeo 4C Spider cuts an impressive figure on the open road thanks to its almost vintage muscle-car styling and its sporty physique. This roadster comes standard with a cloth top, but you can spring for one of the two optional hardtop versions, as well. Its carbon fiber windshield frame makes a sturdy addition to the 2016 model, and the façade comes in seven color options that range from a pure white to a metallic black. The yellow and red options are particularly striking.

The wheel options include 17-inch front and 18-inch rear, as well as 18-inch front and 19-inch rear. Fan-spoke and five-hole designs offer plenty of diversity for picky drivers. Choose from black or carbon-fiber halo panels and from four different brake caliper colors. You might also want to invest in the optional car cover.

Interior

You have six options when it comes to seat color and materials. The yellow accent stitching on the microfiber/leather combination seats might appeal to whimsical drivers, though you can also go with red, tobacco, or black leather-trimmed seats. The cabin might feel a little tight when you first get in because it’s designed to hug both drivers and passengers. The result feels like you’re snug in the cockpit of a powerful jet, which will feed racing fantasies among drivers who love speed.

Other interior features include ergonomic seat designs, convenient console storage, and leather-wrapped dashboard and door panels. The dash and center console remain highly minimalist, though to put the emphasis on the driving experience instead of bells and whistles. You’ll get two cup holders for the driver and front passenger as well as a leather-wrapped tilt and telescopic steering wheel. Air conditioning, dual vanity mirrors, a trip computer round out the Spider’s interior features.

Technology

The major technological offering in the Alfa Romeo 4C is the Alfa D.N.A. system. It creates a dynamic environment that lets you choose from different modes to create the ideal driving experience. If you’re heading home from work in the rain, for instance, choose the all-weather mode to increase traction and take the edge off the Spider’s accelerator response. For enhanced performance in ideal weather conditions, however, select the race mode.
